THE TENAX ACADEMY TRUST AND THE LOCAL GOVERNING BODY

Brenchley & Matfield CE Primary School joined the Tenax Schools Trust as an academy in May 2016. An academy is a state-funded, independent school. The Tenax Schools Trust is a Church of England ‘multi academy trust’.

The Tenax School Trust

The ‘members’ of the Tenax Schools Trust are the Bishop of Rochester, the Rural Dean of Tunbridge Wells and the Archdeacon of Tonbridge. These ‘members’ appoint the board of trustees (or directors) which governs the Tenax Schools Trust, including taking responsibility for its financial health and overall accountability for its educational outcomes.  Further information can be found at here (https://www.tenaxschoolstrust.co.uk/governance-arrangements/)

Brenchley & Matfield CE Primary School

In addition, the Tenax trustees appoint a ‘local governing body’ (LGB) for Brenchley & Matfield.  This local governing body will also include an elected staff governor, two elected parent governors, and Headteacher.
